House of Fun
A tabloid scribbler named Daniel Boffey has managed to get a job as a switchboard operator at the House of Commons by using a fake CV. Good for you sir! Although we can’t condone such fraudulent behaviour, it must come as a relief to his family to see him in gainful employment at last. And it is understandable that he should want to lie about his past.
This isn’t the first time a tabloid journalist has used false ID to gain entry into the House Of Commons, however. Previously a reporter from The Sun smuggled bomb-making equipment into the hallowed building. The culprit has yet to be brought to justice.
And it’s not only tabloid employees that have managed to breech the lower chamber. Recently a hunt galloped through the House, presumably chasing a fox that had sneaked its way in immediately beforehand posing as a reporter.
It seems that anyone and everyone bluffs his way into the House of Commons these days. There should be questions in the house! You never know who will turn up to speak.
