A new phenomenon
The BBC are reporting on a new phenomenon gripping the nation, and it must be if they’ve heard about it. It is known as blogging and results in bizarre websites called blogs. Apparently they are popular with people who want to share their thoughts online, whether anyone is interested in reading them or not.

Of course, there are less people who want to read people’s thoughts than want to express their own. According to Technorati a new blog is created every second… there’s another bipolar sufferer sharing his ups and downs, mainly downs… there’s another nutter ‘expressing his opinion’ to keep him from shooting somethingone… here comes another anthology of gibberish with accompanying idiotic images compiled by some clown who thinks he’s funny. Hm…
Of course, once the rush of excitement has dissipated and the blogger (the technical term for someone who blogs apparently) finds himself checking his stats more often than a visitor adds to them, the site is left neglected. Rather like a dog bought as a present, but without the mess on the carpet. 87 percent of blogs are therefore updated less than once a week. Although, they still pop up in Blogexplosion every few minutes.

There’s nothing worse than surfing Blog Explosion and finding a load of blogs that haven’t been updated for months…I mean..wtf? These people must be online to be getting the Blog Explosion credits, or doesn’t it work like that?
Hmmm..confused. Time to have a coffee break methinks.

Hi weenie, I think it works like that. Have you noticed a massive drop off in hits from Blog Explosion since they introduced Blog Rocket? Blog Clicker seems to have benefited.

Yeah, I noticed the massive drop in hits but didn’t link it to the Blog Rocket. I have noticed that the same old blogs get “churned” through the rocket. I put mine on like once or twice a week and not every week. Otherwise, people would get bored? I certainly get bored seeing the same old ones on there so don’t bother clicking on them as they’ve usually not been updated.
Enough of my rant, home time!

The idea of traffic trading has it’s value, but ought to be more like a giant web ring. I like using blogclicker because I never know where it might take me. I’ve looked elsewhere, but I don’t see anything especially dynamic.
On a completely different note…
Chances the Blighty’s will return well rested after the weekend = 100%. Chances shuttle will get back in one piece = ?. Go figure. Never go to London sans space helmet.

The space shuttle should try landing over here. The weather is great right now! We’ll make them feel welcome. I’m sure it will feel like home after having been up in space.

Heh, I just spend one evening of one day each week playing with BlogRocket, then don’t even look at it for the next six days. Do manage to update things more often than that, though.
It has its ups and downs.

Aerojad, I doubt many bloggers have the time to update their blog daily and use blogexplosion and blogrocket. Although I did try to for a while.
